Deputy Grand Knight

The deputy grand knight is the second in command in the local council. He is also elected annually, assists the grand knight in the operation of council affairs and is responsible for any duties assigned to him by the grand knight. In the absence of the grand knight, the deputy grand knight presides at council meetings and functions as the grand knight would. The deputy grand knight is a member of the Advisory Board charged with general supervision of a Columbian Squires circle sponsored by his council. It is suggested that the deputy grand knight and the board of trustees serve on the council’s retention committee.

No results.

Chancellor

The chancellor is elected annually to serve the council in a variety of ways. Primarily, he assists the grand knight and deputy grand knight in the execution of their duties and takes charge of the council during the incapacity or extended absence of both.

Biography

Paul was born in Gelnhausen, Germany, but grew up in Claverack, New York. He currently lives at 801 Huntington Drive in Highlands Ranch. You may reach him at 303 881-9301 or psceria@q.com.

While growing up, he liked hunting, fishing and sports. Paul attended Hudson High School, Dutchess Community College, and State University of New York where he obtained his AA Liberal Arts and BS Industrial Arts degrees. In high school Paul played soccer and ran the 440 yard dash.

A retired Continental airlines pilot, he presently does flight instruction for Executive Flight Training at Centennial airport.

Paul married Jennifer Ann Owen on September 5th, 1970. They have two daughters, Michelle Jean Shah and Amylynn Johnson, and five grandsons. Michelle is a business owner and Amylynn is a pharmacist. Jennifer is retired from State Farm Insurance and the Randy Johnson Agency.

Paul became a Knight because he wanted to better serve God and his Church. As a 4th Degree Knight, Paul has been active in our Council since its inception. He is charter member, but has been a Knight for many years prior to the founding of Council 10937. He was our Chancellor in 2007 through 2009, our Deputy Grand Knight in 2009 through 2011, and our Grand Knight from 2011 through 2013. He has been active in every activity and event sponsored by our council and has received our Knight and Family of the month several times.

Outside of the Knights, Paul is a member of the Colorado Pilots Association and the Littleton Retired Mens Club.

Paul feels that we the people need to take a more active role in electing people to Congress and that term limits are a must. Our founding fathers of this country never envisioned a Congress of professional politicians, he said. He hopes that our new Pope, Frances, cleans out the bureaucracy in the Church and brings it back to serving God and shepherding the people of God.

He feels that family values are in trouble. People are worshipping work and material things and not working on strengthening family ties and values. Morality is sliding down a slippery slope due to a lack of respect for life.

Paul had a very good and rewarding career in the airlines. He was able to travel a lot and is still visiting places that he and Jennifer have not been. But most of all, Paul and Jennifer enjoy their family and shepherding the growth of their grandsons.

Mike McGinnis married Denise Larralde in October of 1977. They have three children Angel, Amanda, and Jason and two grandchildren Samantha and Trent Kettner. Angel works as a home caregiver, Jason works for Wells Fargo Banks and is a musician in two bands, and Amanda is a special needs person who is currently unemployed. Mikes goal as a Knight is to foster more participation in prolife activities

Mike says, I feel so blessed to be Catholic and to live in the United States. I value my sixteen years of Catholic education and feel it has been a tremendous asset and influence in my life. I am so grateful to have married Denise, a wonderful and loving woman, and to have our three wonderful children and two lovely grandchildren.

I worry about the prevailing attitudes toward immorality in todays world and the exposure that our children have to it. I feel that all of us need to pray and work extremely hard to change the current trend toward immorality. I also feel that our youth are strong and will survive and thrive with a little help and guidance from us. I hope that current political attitudes, particularly those with regard to sanctity of life, will soon change.
