Dear Brother Knights and your loving families,
Wow! Another new Fraternal Year. I think and pray for the following main areas:
Brotherhood – I am excited to serve with you as Brothers, as we reach our Families, Parish, Community, and our World to show the love of God. We look forward that we can support and encourage each other as brother Knights as we serve to make life better in our Parish and Community. I want this to be one on of main strengths.
Charity – We are so thankful of the efforts that we give and serve many charities. In 2018, we donated over 13,275 volunteer hours and over $40,000 in goods and dollars to the following organizations:
- St Elizabeth Food Pantry
- Denver Rescue Mission
- Alternative Pregnancy Center
- Gabriel House
- ARC
- Special Olympics
- Veterans Affairs
- Seminarian Support
- Pax Christi
- Colorado Springs Diocese
- Youth Scholarships and Ministry Support
- Relay for Life
- Joshua Station
- Military Outreach and Wounded Warriors
Family – Our family is one of our main strengths whether we are Single or Married. We want to continue to honor our marriages, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and our Parents. We want them along with us as we make this journey together to serve each other. Our goal is for Knights to lead their family in service – not leave their family for service.
To provide goals to achieve these pursuits, I propose the following:
Faith in Action – We serve with a Higher purpose with a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ. We will begin with our 1st annual Knights retreat on Saturday September 14, 2019. This will lead to hosting a monthly Faith seminar – Learning our Faith. This will be jointly with the entire Parish and their education programs
Membership – Net Growth of 4%, which is an increase of 6 members
Programs – The emphasis will be to honor God by serving our charities, provide further increase in Brotherhood, and involvement with our Families. We will announce the charity we are serving for each program. We want to increase participation that will be work of Joy. We will stand up with each other to show the love of God.
For a prayer and blessing over you, your families and our Reverend Robert F. Houlihan, SJ Council 10937, we pray the following:
May the Lord bless you and keep you,
May the Lord lest his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you,
May the Lord look upon you kindly and give you complete Shalom.
